My name is Zeynep and I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey until I was about 15 years old. Thanks to our parents’ hard work my brother and I both graduated from MSU. He has a master's in engineering, and I have a B.A. degree in Media & Theathre Arts.

I come from a family of great cooks. We have a Mediterranean style cooking. Nobody is a trained chef but when you are a Turk you don’t have to be. In my younger years when my mom would try to teach me how to cook, I refused. I was young and thought I knew everything. It is kind of funny that is what I am doing now. I have a husband and a daughter who is 13. After working in a law firm for many years I was wanting something more. My husband encouraged me to sell at Farmers Market. I started selling my mom’s traditional hummus and then slowly started making different flavors. I got into all the local markets in Bozeman that first summer.

After one trip to Istanbul, Turkey I got inspired and wanted to share my country’s food with everyone. Our core value in our business is “hard work and consistency.” We sold at Farmers Markets for about 6 years and built our brand. Having little space and not a kitchen led us to open a restaurant. Z’s Meze Market.

After 10 long years, we finally decided to close our doors permanently and keep manufacturing delicious Z’s Hummus. Selling is my passion and especially selling something I believe in, and love is wonderful.
